The Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAP) is a start-up accelerator run by the University of Melbourne in Australia. We provide start-ups with funding, shared office space, mentoring and access to experts throughout our four month program.
Launched in June 2012, it is the first university-run accelerator in Australia and had a tremendous first year. Two of our start-ups, Venuemob and 121cast, received funding from the Optus Innov8 Seed Program. Venuemob raised $450k AUD from Optus and a group of angel investors and 121cast raised $250k AUD from Optus and Adventure Capital. As of July 2013 these represent the only investments made by Optus thus far.
